The Hydra is the lightest OC6 ever built with the Pro version hull coming in under 99.2lbs | 45kg. It features a new iako rigging/adjustment mechanism that allows the Hydra to rig double-hull. The ama is an ultralight version of the popular Lele ama made for spec and koa OC6s. It has larger, asymmetrical cockpits and lower gunwales on the ama side for easier changes and quicker bailing. The Hydra also comes with completely redesigned, ultralight footbraces.

Outriggerzone construction

Outriggerzone canoes like the Hydra are unique in being built as a single, seamless piece, reducing weight and eliminating weak points like glue lines. Outriggerzone canoes are also made with prepreg carbon fiber, a construction method adopted from the aerospace industry, which has high-tempature-curing resin impregnated into it. This allows us to carefully control weight, eliminate dilutents, and deliver a canoe that doesn't deform over time.

We have a network of dealers across the world there to get you out on the water. They can give you a demo, help you design and order a custom Hydra, or get you one immediately from their inventory. And they'll be around afterwards to support you. So it doesn't matter whether you're in Tahiti or Tennessee, Austria or Australia, we have someone there to get you out on a Hydra.

How to place your order

Because of the customization of boat designs, you will need to contact us to place your order. We typically receive 1-2 shipments of canoes and surfskis every year. Your order will be added to the next available shipment.
